Day 6 - Sunday 14th September 2014

We travelled back from Washington to Duck.  The weather was nice again and we stopped on the way at Jamestown Settlment.  This is the first successful settlement of America by English settlers in 1603, well before the Pilgrim Fathers and just after the first unsuccessful attempt at Roanoake Island.

It was a really nice area and had an interesting museum, reconstructed Indian Village, a Fort and three full size replica sailing ships that would have been used.  There were guides in costume to give information too.

The stories of John Smith and Pocahontas are all covered in the visit.

We are outside the entrance.

The Indian village.

Not too sure about the canoe!

We got back to Duck after 5pm and later went for a pizza at Trisha's house.  She was a lady who had worked with Rebekah.
